Foreword
Home bartending kind of crept up on me. I started with nothing except a desire to try new flavor combinations and kept looking stuff up on the internet. Of course, every recipe has a list of ingredients, and it turns out that while you can get produce from the grocery store and spirits from the liquor store, it’s almost impossible to find decent cocktail syrups here in Canada.
So I made my own. My background in Science, especially with lab procedures, allowed me to quickly establish methods that consistently resulted in good syrups, allowing me to make some great cocktails. Of course, most people don’t want to have to go to the bother of making their own syrups and this has resulted in two things:
- I’ve become immensely popular in my friend group…
- I decided to start a business so that others can more easily get the key ingredients they’re missing to make great cocktails.
This book also serves this purpose. Depending on which syrups you’ve got, you can look up what drinks you can make. If you have the Subatomic Sampler, you can make them all! I’ve deliberately kept this book informally amateurish. The photos are shots I took with my phone to share with friends, and the rest are AI generated. This was done to save me time, and to relieve you of any burden that you might feel to make your drinks look exactly like mine. Just have fun.
This book gets you started: the internet is FULL of cocktail recipes. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
Have fun with it, and remember, drink the drink you want to drink.
It’s less than a week ’til Friday. Better start planning.
